He/she should be able to stand up, sit, turn and lie down on his/her side stretched out comfortably. If you buy a crate for a puppy, please get one that will fit him/her as an adult. You’d better buy a crate with divider so you can expand the crate area as your puppy grows. If you are in doubt of size, please opt for the next size up. A crate slightly too large is better than one too small.

    It is an okay product but not made to hold large breed dogs. I have a bloodhound and when she stretches out the sides of the crate lean as if it is going to come apart. The locks on the front of the crate are hard to close. The ASPCA brand are made better and better priced. I purchased one of those as well and it is far superior.
