I was disappointed in the product, it looks and performs like any other hair dryer to me. It is adequate for the price, but heat is too hot for pets, you have to constantly press the cool air button to keep the air down to warm or cool. Maybe its quieter than other hair dryers the same size but I can’t notice it.
I initially bought this hair dryer for my newborn kitten rescue and the two dogs that reside there as well. It has worked very well for all of us and when handled carefully, the knobs do not strip. I successfully bath and dry on average ten kittens and two dogs monthly and receive no scratches. An added bonus was discovered when my mother visited who has arthritis in her hands and her hairdryer is one of those uncomfortable chores she dreads. She saw the dryer under the bathroom cabinet with a stand and pulled it out, thinking I had found the greatest thing ever. After using it, she loved the fact it didn’t get so hot it left her with that “frying” your hair feel. Needless to say, I sent her one in the mail the following week and she still loves it. I’m sorry so many people have had issues with the knobs, but I believe if you prepare things ahead, the “gears” last longer than if you are trying to rush with a wet dog around and in a perhaps “setting of disorder”. Who knows? I just know I have purchased my third one and sent it to my Grandmother who is now laughing to think they fell in love with the Andis QuietAire Ionic Ceramic Pet Dryer. She loves it because it doesn’t set off her migraine headaches like normal hair dryers do. So, for the people I know, we have found many positive reasons to enjoy and embrace this dryer and hope you and your furry family or human family find ways to enjoy it as well. Handle it with care and it should last! I’ve never had a problem with an Andes product.
I purchased this thinking it would be stronger and cooler for drying my pets with thick hair. It is just the same as my regular $9.00 blow dryer. It works, and the stand is nice to have, but a big hook to hold my own dryer would have sufficed.
I bought this for the hands-free capability. However, it fits very poorly in the stand. The plastic protector on the cord, at the bottom of the dryer, keeps the dryer from sitting fully in the stand. So it is loose and wobbly.
The product description says it has 4 heat settings and 3 fan speeds. Don’t be misled into thinking that the heat and fan switches are independent. It is one switch. For high fan speed you get high heat. No option. The fourth “heat” setting is a button to temporarily turn off the heat while you press it (cool shot button).
The only advantage to this dryer over my regular hair dryer is that this one is quieter. Hence the two star rating, instead of one star.
I wish I had read the Amazon reviews before having ordered it (from a different vendor). As it is, I’ll be keeping it (because that vendor doesn’t guarentee satisfaction) — but will be rigging up my own stand.
Product works just fine but the only difference from the pet to human model is the stand. Quite honestly I like mine a little better as it seems sturdier. Heat ranges the same so I would only buy if you truly want the stand which is pretty flimsy.
