I have two large, very active dogs (70 lb German shorthair & 65 lb boxer/lab mix). Both pull like sled dogs and I don’t have the time to properly train them for loose-leash walking. Running with them using traditional leashes used to be a chore, an obligation to keep them healthy and mentally stimulated. With this product and a chest harness for the dogs, running with them is a joy, something we all look forward to. The waist harness is comfortable, has some storage for keys and poop bags, and is very sturdy and durable. The leash withstands a lot of stress and the quick release is a nice touch just in case. I run 12-16 miles a week with them and have nothing but good things to say about the system. The next step is getting another leash to try and run with both simultaneously!

This is the ultimate running leash. I’ve tried other products because I was looking to save money and they all fell short of what I needed. This is a heavy duty piece of equipment that fits comfortable and allows me to run with my dog hands free.

A few important points to understand/consider:

If you are a male and running with the leash attached at the front, careful of the carabiner as it will hit you where you don’t want it to when the dog gives you slack.

I like to run with the dog at my side however he (a golden retriever) needs a few hundred feet of pulling before I can get him to cooperate with running at my side. I’ve tried various training methods and I consider this a compromise. To do this with this product, I attached the leash directly to the quick-release in the front (without the carabiner for reasons mentioned above) and put the carabiner on the side attachment. Then, he pulls me like crazy for a few blocks and when he’s ready to settle down and run beside me with some slack, I snap the leash into the side carabiner so that it runs from the front to the side and out to the dog. It allows me to transition without breaking stride. Works like a dream. If the dog is tugging when you are attached to the side it will spin you.

My only criticism is that when I hit 8 miles (which is probably close to the limit of what you should run with a dog) I start to chafe. Still much more comfortable than any other running leash I’ve tried.

I purchused this product a year ago and have loved it ever since. I can run with my dog and carry a water bottle and my keys without having to hold things in my hands. Before I purchased this belt I dreaded running with my dog b/c I could never get into my stride b/c I had the leash to hold onto but that isn’t a problem anymore. I have recommended this to all my dog owning runner friends.
