The Cat Hole pet door is designed for interior use to allow a cat or small dog access through a doorway without keeping the door open. A typical example would be to allow a cat access to a litter box kept in a closet. The pet door comes with two unfinished wooden frames that may be stained or painted to match the door. The door should be a standard dimension (ie 1 3/8″) and may be hollow or solid. A brush is included which is designed to install between the two frames and serves to ‘groom’ the cat as he passes through.

This is super easy to install and it is perfect for keeping the dog out of the cat food and litter box. Plus, it is cute! We had the door down, cut, and back up in about ten minutes.
My cat weighs about 10 pounds and she fits through this easily.
I have two cats and a big dog. The dog wants to play rougher than the cats like. With the “cat hole” they can escape to the basement when dog is around. It installed easily and looks nice. The brushes keep the cat hair down – and allow my one “fat” cat to get through. My daughter has one in her house which allows her cat to access the litter box room without letting anyone else know where she is going. (she is very private.) I give this product 5 stars!!!
I love everything about this product, they just need to lower the price. There’s maybe 5 or 10 bucks worth of materials in this product max, but having said that I’m just about to order another one because there’s really nothing else like it on the market
It does come unfinished (i.e. wood color) so you’ll have to paint it white or whatever color you want to match your existing door. But other than that, all you really need is a jigsaw (note: a coping saw won’t work, it’s too short) and the ability to take your door off its hinges and follow simple instructions, and BAM – you have an instant way for cats to go in & out of a room when the door is closed. I love this product!
This is a great indoor cat door. Obviously you can’t use it for a door leading to the outside, but we have it on our basement door because the litter box is in the basement. We don’t have to worry about keeping the door open, or it accidentally closing and the cats not being able to get to their litter box. We will be putting one on our bedroom door so that we can shut the dog in our room at night but not have to worry about getting up to let the cats in and out, and in that respect it’s much better than a cat door with an actual door because they can be noisy and might wake us up. I guess the only setback is if you need a door that you can occasionally lock to keep them in or out of a room – but the only one time we’ve encountered that we just put a board over the hole. Not great for frequent use but it worked for that time! I love it and would recommend it to anyone!
What a great invention. In our home, we like to keep the litter box in the basement, but we don’t want to leave the door open. The Cat Hole is a great solution for this problem. I am not handy at all, but it really wasn’t difficult to install. The hole is made up of two wooden arches that are held together by screws, and they come unfinished. The first step is to paint the arches. I used white satin spraypaint on mine to match the door, but if you’re good at painting, you could do something more creative. To install, you need a jigsaw. First you remove the door (very easy, just remove the pegs with a hammer and screwdriver) and then trace the outline of the cathole with the included template. Next, just cut the archway with the jigsaw; it doesn’t have to be perfect, since the Cathole arches will cover it up nicely (they slide over the part you cut). After you cut the door, just slide the arches on and tighten them with a screwdriver – and that’s all there is to it! My cat likes the brush and even at over 20 pounds, he has no trouble getting through the Cat Hole. If you have a super size cat, the manufacturer does make a brush with smaller bristles that will allow for more clearance in the Cat Hole.
