I love walking my standard schnauzer with this lead. The button that holds the lead at a consistent length works great, as does the retraction mechanism. The only problem was when I sat down to visit with other walkers and was not paying 100% attention to my dog, he chewed through the belted lead in less than 3 minutes. Granted, he is an aggressive chewer, but wow, he went through it quickly. I admit this is a dog-walker problem rather than a product problem, but it would be nice if the manufacturer could design it so the lead is tougher where the dog’s teeth can destroy it. Just pay attention when walking your dog and you will love using this product.

I have two big dogs. A Yellow Lab and a German Shepherd and we do not have a fenced in yard. So My flexi lead is a lifesaver since I have to let them out to go potty twice a day and I really don’t have time every day to take them for a real walk. I can let them out in the yard and stand on the deck with one end of the leash. These leashes are practically indestructible. My last one went through hell and back and we had it for 5 years !!!!! It finally broke when a puppy I was babysitting chewed through the cord (I had left the leash on top of her kennel cage and the cord was hanging in her cage). When I went to buy a new Flexi I knew it would be expensive but I know there is NO other alternative to this product. And I found it on Amazon for less than what they sell them for at our local Petco store (even including shipping)! This leash is not for training or taking your dog to the vet when you need to maintain control. But it IS for a semi trained dog, who you want to let have more freedom but can’t go completely without a leash.
