I bought two. My dogs actually use them, and I’ve washed them twice with no fading. This is a very good product. My only note is that they do look dirty fairly quickly if your dogs are outside at all. But… it’s a dog bed… what more do you want?
The Large 36×24 Lounger Dog Pet Bed – Black is your basic foam pet bed with a sherpa (nubby) fleece cover. The inside is cream sherpa, with the outside being a color (black in this case, but it comes in blue, burgundy, green, red and khaki as well…). The cover easily unzips to be removed for washing, which is this beds best feature.
The foam is not like memory foam, but it’s solid. Despite the cover the foam does pick up hair. I have a black lab and her hair seems to go through the sherpa and stick in the foam.
The bed does hold its shape even with a heavy 55 pound dog using it every day, but the cover is tough to get on and off. It kind of sticks to the foam instead of easily sliding on and off.
I guess if I could change the design I’d put some kind of nylon liner on the foam to resolve the issues I have with the bed. I also think the price is a bit high, and I will probably not buy another one. Instead I’ll buy the pillow type bed, if nothing else for easy removal and replacement of the cover.
The cover is removable for cleaning but it is difficult to get back in place. The inside foam form is not real think so the sides bend over very easily. It really isn’t strong enough to be a pillow, like the picture would lead you to believe.
