To my surprise, the gate is more substanial than I had suspected. It works perfectly to keep our weiner dog at bay. Works for us!

The gate works great and is very easy to set up single handed. Creates a very secure barrier for our dog. One minor design flaw means that if you locate the gate inside the lip of moulding in your door jam, the locking arm mechanisms can mar the wood moulding. There’s no need to set up inside the moulding as the locking is very secure wherever you set it up, but a minor change in the design could eliminate the problem.

This gate does it’s job – snugly fastens to walls or doorways to create a barrier. However, i noticed after using the gate for a week or so that it has left a series of indentations or dents on the doorframe. It seems this gate has a design defect in that the main bar used to expand the gate extends slightly past the edge of the gate, cutting into the wall when it is used. Since i am a renter, i am not so pleased with the damage it has caused. It is mild, but still noticeable, and will require repairs.
