The fleas on the pet are in the adult stage. An adult, female flea, living on a pet, can lay up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. With CAPSTAR (nitenpyram), almost all adult fleas will die within 4 hours for dogs and 6 hours for cats.

    I love this product!! I give the dog her pill (I use the smaller dose for my cats and Italian Greyhound as needed) and within an hour, the fleas are falling off, dead!! Far far better than any powder or shampoo I have ever tried, Better than any of the collars as well. Highly recommended.

    I do a lot of animal rescue work. Capstar works within hours to kill all fleas. The fleas literally jump off and die. You might want to keep the animal contained in one room like a bathroom for a few hours because you will be cleaning up dead fleas off the floor. Yes, it is that effective. For animals with a nasty flea infestation it brings fast relief. This product only kills adult fleas, it doesn’t kill eggs so you must follow up with a topical product like Frontline or Revolution. However if your animal is allergic to topicals this product is safe to give as often as every day. If your poor pet is suffering with fleas use this product first to kill all the fleas immediately then follow up with Frontline or Revolution. The seller, Entirely Pets, was fantastic. Received product within days.

    I used this out of sheer desperation. Nothing else helped. I treated the cats and the dog, bombed the house and started Program. Rarely see a flea. I tried the topicals, baths, powders and everything else that was suggested. I did check with the vet, and don’t treat my old cat. Treating everyone else seems to do it.

    My dog will run and hide if the spray bottle of flea killer comes out. No more worrying if you have covered all areas of your animal, getting chemicals on your skin and breathing that stuff in. Capstar works quickly and dead fleas just drop off!

    I purchased this for my dog along with the program tablets, and I didn’t see anymore fleas but he, and the cats were still scratching a lot for a couple of weeks after. He is a golden retriever so it was hard to actually see the fleas before, but I knew he must have them because our cats did. 2 weeks after treating all our animals with program and capstar I found flea dirt on our bed so I gave them another capstar dose. I used just 2 of the capstar pills about 2 weeks apart and a program pill. This was about a month ago, so I think the fleas are gone, and the weather is cold now, so I don’t know if the capstar worked like it should or not.
