    I have 5 cats and I can get them all shaved within an hour with these clippers. It cuts right through their heavy coats and they don’t mind the shave because it only takes minutes. I use the clippers without any attachments – I purchased the attachments, but they didn’t seem to work as well with them.

    Great Clippers, easy to use, a little heavy at first but easy to get used to when using the clippers. The charger is handy and having two battery packs is great for clipping our 100 lb dog. I read the other reviews for this product, as well as other clippers, and I’m very glad that I decided to spend a little more to get a great product. I also like that everything comes in a very strong carrying case.

    I was surprised at how heavy the clipper is. However, it feels very solid and well-constructed. The power switch is not in a good location for turning the unit on and off during one-handed operation but otherwise the unit was designed with ergonomics in mind. It has a comfortable shape and curves in just the right places. It easily stands on end on a flat surface (as shown in the product’s photo) without being tipsy. The clipper runs at a relatively low speed, which has two advantages over most other clippers: it is not as loud, and the blade does not get hot. It is not “whisper quiet,” but it is quiet enough that it has not scared any of the cats I’ve used it on or near. The fit and finish on the carrying case is a little disappointing but the fact that the clipper comes with a carrying case is convenient, and the case is good enough for normal use. I recommend also buying the Oster 10-piece comb kit (it was only $11) if you are going to do anything other than straight shaving. For example, a vet’s office wouldn’t need the comb kit for surgical prep, but might want to buy the #40 blade for a closer shave. In contrast, a groomer wouldn’t need the #40 but would definitely want the combs. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.

    I’ve used oster clippers for years with various results. The best of their corded “golden” clippers get so hot that you burn an animal with the blade and the new fanned ones are no better. These new cordless clippers are the pits. The batteries don’t have enough power and no life at all. They actually go dead on their own in a matter of weeks. So, when you get the urge to clip your pet you must first get the sweet little case out to find dead clipper batteries. So then go get the old plug-in variety, clip the dog and take some pictures by the time these expensive good for nothing “professional” clippers are ready to do something. Forget about it! The dealer told me to forget about warranty on the batteries too! And $44 to replace them? – forget about it! They will need to do something about the batteries but hold your hat for the price for that!!! Did I say: FORGET ABOUT IT?!!!!

    I purchased the cordless clipper after my last oster clipper showed up broken one day. This has been wonderful – it is much quieter, and the cordless part makes it so much more convenient for my older dog. He can just lay anywhere he wants, and I can track him down instead of forcing him to stay close to an outlet. For his convenience, this has been well worth the extra investment.
