I love the garage door function, but the plastic guides broke off within the first week leaving it useless. Although heavy, an all metal option would be much better

My husband and I bought this crate for our 2 year old lab mix. We found the “garage door” side access convenient and allowed us to leave the crate open so our dog could be in her crate whenever she wanted. Unfortunately the crate is NOT easy to transport- we found it difficult to flatten out and it does not have a latch. Also within the first 6 months, one of the plastic nubs that attaches the side “garage” door to the crate broke off and we are no longer able to use this door. We have also had to secure the door shut with rope, as minimal pressure from our dog now allows her to burst through the door. Considering the cost of this crate, I was extremely disappointed with the level of quality and the fact that I will be replacing the crate less than a year after purchasing it.

I bought this item in size Large. It is listed on the manufacturer’s website as being 31″ high. It is NOT. Upon contacting them, they say it is a typo and it is indeed only 27″ high. Which was too short for our dog. He could not stand up in it. That is the same height as a medium crate! The breeds listed on the box that it is recommended for could not stand up in it either. Customer service at PetGear was lacking also. No apology for their typo nor compensation for a crate that is going to cost a fortune to return to the online retailer where purchased. Eventually they will correct the typo—but if you have a tall dog or a dog that likes to stand up in his crate, keep in mind that this one is very very short for a large dog.

I like the idea of this crate. However, it needs a few things. We show our Boxer at AKC dog shows and that is why we bought this. The wheels are cheap. So, I wish it had bigger, stronger wheels. They give you a carrying case with cut-outs for the wheels, so that you can drag it on the ground on its wheels, with the case in-tact. However, the only thing that happens, is that the fabric case gets torn up.

Second, when you collapse the crate, there is no latch to keep it locked and secure. So, I had to go out and buy bungy cords for it.

Third, the handle is cheap. When I was dragging it on the wheels, on day one, the handle broke off.

So, now I have to go out and buy a handtruck to put the crate on, which defeats the purpose of buying a crate with built-in wheels.

If they re-do this crate with stronger parts, this crate will fly off of the shelves. Until then, wait for version 2.0. (if there is such a thing)

This is an excellent concept for a dog crate. It is a hard plastic material so my dog cannot dig out of it or rip soft cloth and folds to close. We were very excited to use it.

However, after purchase, we observed with trepidation that the plastic locks and snaps seemed light-weight and un-sturdy. Sure enough, after two uses, one of the main locks broke off.

Second, while it collapses down, there is no way to secure it in the down position. It has a handle and wheels, but if you attempt to roll it, it will unfold like an accordion.

We were very disappointed with this product, as it held such potential.
