    Bought this crate in the medium size to crate train our Golden Retriever puppy and glad we found it on sale. Nice and sturdy but not sure I’d use it to transport in anything other than a car/truck. I seriously doubt it would collapse on its own but it is slightly shakey so it might make a dog a bit nervous. I really like the “other door”, the garage-type door. I didn’t realize how beneficial this door would be when I looked it over in the store but after getting it set up at home, I find it is most useful. I also like the open-ness of the crate and like to think the puppy appreciates it too. It has the open-ness of the normal wire crates yet more sturdy and attractive. The floor is easy to clean up even though it isn’t a pull-out tray like some of the others.

    Set-up and tear-down is easy enough. I like the clasps and fasteners. I really doubt a dog could work their way out of this crate. Although one side does depend on plastic clasps to keep it from folding, the side will not entirely collapse when the other three sides are properly fastened.

    I doubt this crate will be big enough for our Golden when she is full grown unless she takes on the small frame of her mother. And it isn’t the recommended size for the breed but we aren’t planning on using the crate her entire life anyway. It will definitely work nicely throughout puppy-hood. I was surprised to find such a low price on this crate at a local pet superstore so we went with it over the other available models. I would definitely recommend this crate for in-home crate training.

    I wanted to write a positive review for this crate, because I think it could be a great crate for certain people/situations!

    My dog hurt his back about 6 weeks ago. I needed a crate that was open on all four sides and could be wheeled, and this was PERFECT. He can get into it easily, I can open the top to drop in food, drink, and administer his medicine, and when I move from room to room, I can take him easily with me. I have a Lhasa mix that’s about 30 pounds, and I bought the Large size (at a local retailer at a GREAT price) to give him room. The medium would have been adequate, but wouldn’t have let him stretch out at all, so if you’re looking for a “sleeping space” for your dog, I’d err on the larger size. Also, my dog is NOT an escape artist. Once he’s in the crate, he does not try to get out at all. I would imagine a dog that pushed against the doors could tear this crate apart, since the clasps are plastic. I definitely wouldn’t use this as an airline carrier.

    PROS: Sets up / breaks down in minutes, easy to clean interior, the “garage” type door – makes it easy to leave open with no door hanging in the way!, the multiple openings – especially the top, & the wheels

    CONS: When I’ve wheeled it with him in it, the crate “shifts” and I have to readjust it. The garage door sometimes comes off track, but it fixes itself easily in seconds. Plastic clasps could be broken with a rambunctious dog.

    For me, the PROS far outweigh the CONS, and it was perfect for my needs – which is why I gave it a five. I’m very happy with my purchase.
