Be aware first of all that you must know what kind of toy your dogs like. My shepherd/lab HATES talking stuffed toys. He has torn up a stuffed speaking gorilla ($15) in about 10 seconds. (still loves to play with it though even though the speaker is busted) Loves to tear up talking greeting cards especially from Hoops and Yoyo? So I Bought 2 babble balls for 2 dogs in August.

They ARE VERY SENSITIVE when the batteries are fresh. We laughed all day at him and had to wrap it in old socks as we were afraid he was going to break his teeth. However, after a few days, he seemed to want to play with it and not eat it (probably only because all attempts to silence the thing had failed miserably)

    1. VERY hard and durable (almost too hard as we were worried about teeth damage, would be better if they were made out of hard rubber like a KONG!! but putting in old socks worked well)

    2. battery lasts a long time. our balls get played with ALL the time and my first one is just dying.

    4. Suggest only as indoor toy because of battery component.

    5. VERY loud and sensitive when the battery/toy is new. suggest putting them up at night if you want any sleep at all until the battery wears down a bit. Also, our dogs like to put them by the side of the bed after we go asleep. If we get up at night, we kick it, it speaks and the dogs come running from wherever they are to see if they can get attention or convince us to let them out. It like their little people alarm and don’t even suggest to me that they don’t do it on purpose because they leave one on my side of the bed and one on my husband’s.

    6. it may take awhile for your timid dog to enjoy it. My boxer mix was scared of it but after the lab had run it down a bit she learned to pick it up gently (fun for us when she jostled it- it spoke in her mouth- she dropped it and ran and ran)

All in all, you cannot buy this much fun for yourself with $10 anywhere else. Our dogs drop it, chase it, wrestle for it and bark at it.

I would really like to see them add some command phrases in the next one. “sit” “speak” “go to Bed”

    That would be really funny!

I know this is meant to be a dog toy, but our 9 month old nephew could not put it down, he loved it and chased the toy and the dog all over the house. Very entertaining ball. Can bit a little annoying when you walk by it in the middle of the night, but overall, great toy!

This is a cute item. My dog wasn’t quite sure of it at first, he is very shy. He doesn’t play with it alot. I was surprised that it was made of a hard plastic. Some of the sayings are hard to understand but most are easy. It says “hot diggity dog, giggles, come here puppy, yah baby, howls”, and more. It’s worth the price for a laugh.

My dog loves this toy and he cannot chew off pieces of it which is the best part of all! He can play with it for hours! As long as you are not trying to watch TV in the same room then it can get a tad annoying because it does talk pretty loud. :-)

My nine month old German Shepherd loves this ball. Sometimes I have to put it up to hear the TV. She really bats it around and so far it is holding up well.
