My wife and I looked at a lot of different ramps and decided on this one because it’s light in weight and compact when folded. It takes only a few seconds to unfold or refold the ramp, and it stores in a much smaller space than other types of ramps.

Our dog, who had never used a ramp before, took only about five minutes of practice and a couple of treats for encouragement before she was happily running up and down it. Because this ramp is so light, it doesn’t feel particularly sturdy, but so far it’s working great for our 50-pound dog. The manufacturer rates the ramp for dogs up to 65 pounds, so if you’ve got a big dog you should probably look for another product.

The picture here on Amazon makes it seem more obvious, but we bought this from a site with a different picture, and we were under the impression that it was more heavy-duty (like 80$ worth.) The plastic surface is indeed easy-clean, and our dogs were easily led up the ramp til they realized that they had no grip – easy to clean equals slippery for paws. If we’d loved it more, we would have applied some grip tape to help them. As it was, we fell out of love with it quickly. The fold-up process is unwieldy, and finger pinching is possible even when you get the hang of it. Again, not a deal breaker, but for the price we expected more. Ultimately, this became most useful:

1)as a toy for our toddler who enjoyed having it flat on the ground and walking back and forth on it

2)as a seat off the ground when fully folded (but watch out, the latch broke off quickly and with little stress)

3)as a step stool for the toddler to reach the sink in our home

Wouldn’t recommend this for regular use on a road trip, as we had hoped.
