    We own two Coton de Tulear, each weighing 12 pounds.

    The gate I needed had to be tall because one of the two dogs is a jumper. This works great for our two small dogs. (So far, who knows what they think up next. The 2 rascals scoot my caster kitchen chairs around and use them as spring-boards)

    The room that is being barred is not one we use a lot. I can step fine over the gate, I’m 5.7″

    It looks so much better than my first cheap-skate solution, which they finally managed to break through and caused a lot of damage.

    Yes, it is an expensive gate but I am glad I bought it.

    This gate would not work for a lab. or collie, they take one flying leap and jump right over it, unless they are super well behaved…

    Bought this gate for a small dog with lots of energy. The gate is heavy enough where he can’t push it aside or push it down, looks nice and will store nicely with the sides folded in and pushed against one of the walls. I ordered a second one for another large doorway!

    I have bought and returned three gates to use for our golden retriever puppy because they either didn’t fit the door opening tightly or were a real pain to put together and operate. Even though this gate is expensive, it is heavy, tall and fits the odd sized openings that need blocking in our house. It would be nice if it had a swinging gate in it, but it’s not that big of a deal to move it to get through. I squirted a non-staining, non-alcohol dog repellant on the top rail and so far the puppy (and our older dog) haven’t tried to jump up on it or push on it. I like that it was so easy to put together and can be moved from one location to another without dismantling it or unhooking it from the doorway. And it’s pretty.

    this (along with the richell mobile pen) was one of my best amazon purchases ever. i set them up next to the doggy door so the dogs can easily go outside but also limit their access to the rest of the house while i’m gone. i have two small yorkies and they’re unable to climb out which was a problem with the design of other gates i mulled over. it was simple to put together and has a very nice wood finish. i’m definitely super pleased with this buy and would recommend it to others.

    I purchased this gate to keep my 40 pound Border Collie in the kitchen during the day while I am at work. The gate looks nice and I especially like the fact that it is freestanding. Unfortunately I have to use my husbands bowling ball on one side and a kitchen chair on the other side to prevent my dog from pushing the gate out of the way or completely over. That being said, I do think this gate would work for some dogs (not all) but it certainly isnt the amazing solution that some of the other reviewers make it out to be. The collapsible sides are nice, but they dont truly serve any function for the space in which I am using this gate (blocking the entrance from the kitchen to the living room). The gate does not slide to make it shorter or wider without using a screwdriver to loosen the bolt and then tighten it again. This is somewhat inconvenient for us to use it in multiple places throughout the day without keeping a screwdriver accessible at all times. Overall, we will keep this purchase and use it for what we originally intended, but we would not purchase another gate like this again or recommend to family or friends. I would however purchase from this seller again because the item arrived in a very short amount of time.
