I bought the 1″ wide x 18″ – 24″ long adjustable dog collars for my Great Pyrenees & Saint Bernard. They’re both piglets when they play outside, and their nylon collars were getting stinky and discolored from the oil in their coats and rolling around in the mud.
These collars work great, and they last a long time. I’ve had the same one on my Pyr for over 2 years, and it still looks as nice as it did 18 months ago. The back side of it is vinyl, so you can just unclip it from your dog’s neck, and wash it in the sink with a little dishsoap & the sprayer. Hang it over the faucet to dry, and it looks nice & clean.
My only complaint is that the vinyl is a little stiff when you first get it. It takes a bit for it to be broken in, and your dog may scratch & tug at it until it softens up. Otherwise, we love them and appreciate the fact we can still buy nice, pretty collars for our big, goofy girls.
I bought this collar for my 8 lb puppy and at 20 lb she is starting to outgrow it. She can grow a bit more before I have to replace it (all these details just to give you an idea if it might fit your dog). It is very durable and the pattern does look as appears in the photo. I purchased the matching leash and have no problems with either. The collar clasp is easy to open, and the size is easily adjustable without any fear of it slipping too tight or getting too loose.
Unfortunately, when I received this, it was not at all what was pictured, as far as the size goes. It looked like it would fit a dog for 20lbs or less. I have a dog who is 60lbs. The nice thing was the return process was very simple.
