My American Bulldog mix is more than just an “aggressive” chewer. He’s a beast! Most toys lasted an hour at most, even the ones specifically marketed for aggressive chewers. But this is a completely different story. After two weeks of constant play, it shows absolutely no signs of wear! Not to mention, it’s his absolute favorite! No more throwing away money on expensive toys that are no good. The Hurley is the only chew toy I’ll ever buy him again.
In my opinion and my dog, Dylan’s, this is the only line of toys that are virtually indestructible. He has been chewing on the same pink bone for 6 years now and knows it by name. He LOVES it. Thats why we bought several more in the series.
My 10 month old Pit/Lab mix destroys most toys in minutes. So I was hesitantly hopeful that this toy’s “guaranteed toughness” would hold up. Granted, this toy lasted well over a couple of weeks of intermittent chewing and playing. But she has now completely bitten torn this one apart as well. This toy, while not as tough as I would have liked, did last much longer than most and she seemed to love it. So I would likely buy this one again.
I have two labs that are not quite a year old and they LOVE to chew anything and everything. They can tear up a black Kong in 15 minutes or less if there are treats in it. I’ve had the Hurleys for two days and one of the dogs has managed to pull very small chunks out of it already. The fact that the toys aren’t shredded to the point that I have to take them from the dogs, yet, is good. But, I was really hoping for something that would hold up longer. I will put the Hurleys away until it warms up and try them as pool toys. Maybe they will last longer that way.
My dog loves this toy and there is no possible way for him to brake or tear the thing apart. Whatever the material is, it is the strongest stuff ever made for animals.
